The International ProStar has been chosen as the perfect truck to spread some Christmas spirit this year.
The truck has many fine attributes (as found when it was reviewed by us), but as charming as the ProStar may be, the haul of goodies that it’s delivering across Australia this Christmas is where the cheer comes in.
The brightly decorated and shiny red truck is hauling the Coca-Cola/Salvation Army Christmas Truck.
Launched in Sydney this week, the ‘It Feels Good to Give’ tour will see the 550hp ProStar travel over 10,000 kilometres in the coming weeks distributing ‘Secret Santa’ gifts.
All the gifts are provided by Coca-Cola, guests simply select a bauble from the Christmas archways on entry to the event, which contains a gift tag of a recipient at the next location.
They then choose a gift for them from the present station and handwrite a message on an accompanying Christmas card – and the truck will deliver it to the recipient at the next stop.
In return, the gift giver receives a gift, wrapped by someone from the previous stop.
Darren Swenson is the Marketing Manager at Iveco, Australian distributors of International Trucks, he says it’s a great initiative to be involved in.
“It’s fantastic to assist in spreading some Christmas cheer,”
“The ProStar is an ideal truck for the task, providing ample horsepower, the convenience of an AMT and a full standing height cabin, providing the driver with plenty of space when they’re parked-up.
“And the trailer has just about as much payload as Santa’s sleigh!”
