One of Australia’s best-known transport companies has started adding the new-generation Scania trucks to its fleet.

Driven by us here, the new-generation Scania trucks (or NTG trucks in Scania lingo) were launched into Australia earlier in the year.

Now the Swedish brand is starting to see the new offerings handed over to some of their most loyal customers, including Linfox.

The first new-gen Scania’s heading to the operation include 42 Euro 6 compliant P 450 Sleeper Cabs.

To be used predominantly on metropolitan duties, the P-series was chosen by Linfox for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the easy entry into the Scania cab for drivers.

While Linfox has opted for the full Scania safety pack on the 450hp trucks, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning.

Side curtain rollover protection airbags are a standard fitment on all new-gen Scania trucks.

“We have only recently begun delivery of the new-generation vehicles in Australia and this is the biggest fleet order we have delivered so far,” – Mikael Jansson, Managing Director of Scania Australia.

“We see this order as a vote of confidence in the Scania NTG vehicle, and our joint commitment to safety and sustainability.

“Linfox has very high expectations for the new trucks, which we are confident they will meet and exceed.”

Ray Gamble, President of Fleet & Procurement at Linfox, tells us the new trucks are safer and more efficient than the vehicles they will replace in the fleet.

“These investments ensure we are positioned to deliver more efficient and safer logistics for our customers and our community.

“We look forward to bringing the benefits of these investments to our customers and community in 2019.”
