Japanese trio lead truck sales in October 2018

Isuzu, Hino and Fuso take podium positions again in October

The Truck Industry Council (TIC) has just released the October 2018 Truck Sales data and shows 3,353 trucks were handed over to customers in the month.

In another strong month for the industry, Isuzu again came out on top with 924 sales scoring the brand a commanding 24.4% market share.

The Japanese brand finishing on the podium alongside compatriots Hino (511) and Fuso (388).

Kenworth, Iveco and Mercedes-Benz also all broke 200 truck sales in the month, a notable achievement.

The figures show 1,398 total heavy-duty sales in October, medium-duty totalled 721 and light-duty accounted for 1,234 sales in the month.

The overall sales total up significantly over the October 2017 result of 2,883 sales.

Isuzu also has bragging rights again over the grouped truck brands with Daimler Truck’s 625 sales in the month leading Volvo Group Australia (389), Paccar (338), Iveco/International (255) and Penske (111).
