Leading fire truck manufacturer, Magirus, has been handed one of the world’s top manufacturing certifications.
Magirus is a part of the giant CNH Industrial family (alongside Iveco, Case IH and New Holland) and has a history that dates back nearly 200 years!
Now their plant in Brescia, northern Italy, has achieved Bronze level certification in the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program.
We visited the Magirus plant in Ulm, Germany, last year – check out details of that visit here.
The Italian plant is where Magirus produces its world-renowned airport fire trucks, including the 1,120hp Magirus Dragon (as seen above).
While a range of other special firefighting and disaster control vehicles are also designed and manufactured at the plant for use by fire services across the globe, including Australia.
Magirus builds fire trucks on chassis/platforms supplied by some of the world’s leading truck manufacturers, including Iveco.
Now the plant has one of the top WCM classifications after being assessed as meeting the global manufacturing industry’s highest standards.
The facility made significant improvements in the area of People Development and maintained a high level of consistency in the Work Place Organization and Energy/Environment pillars.
