No doubt many car drivers would have a very different attitude towards trucks, if they tried to drive one themselves!
Now a group of university students have got to see what it’s like steering a truck around and are now of the understanding that it is not as easy as it might seem and its nothing like driving a car.
The Swinburne University completes a road safety program each year, this time around Communication Design (Honours) students focused on sharing the road safely with trucks.
The students have appeared in the video below talking about their now better understanding of the challenges facing truck drivers and aims to raise awareness of road sharing among fellow young car drivers.
It also aimed to ‘humanise’ truck drivers to promote improved interactions between cars and larger vehicles.
The video was produced with the assistance of the Australian Trucking Association, Melbourne Metro Rail Authority, National Road Safety Partnership Program, and Transport Accident Commission.
