Last week Bill Gillespie from Hino Australia told us safety was now priority number one for most truck buyers in 2018.
Now comes confirmation a key safety feature will come as standard on a new Hino offering.
That offering is the new-generation Hino 500 Series Standard Cab.
Sitting alongside the big-selling Hino 500 Series Wide Cab (reviewed by us here), the new addition to the medium-duty truck range at Hino will feature Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) as standard equipment.
Landing in dealerships from November, the VSC confirmation means every model in the Hino range from the 300 Series (4×2 and 4×4) to the 500 Series 6×4 boasts the potentially life-saving technology.
Daniel Petrovski, Hino Australia’s Manager of Product Strategy, says the new truck’s safety credentials run even further than just VSC.
“The all-new Hino 500 Series Standard Cab will feature an active safety package that also includes UN ECE R29-rated cab strength, a driver SRS airbag, ADR84/00 Front Underrun Protection and Easy Start.
“And that’s just the start – these street smart new standard cab models will offer safety features never before seen in Australia from a Japanese manufacturer.”
We will have more details on the new Hino offerings ahead of the local launch of the new Standard Cab model.
