The McColl’s Transport story has a new chapter about to open with the business welcoming new owners.
The 66-year old bulk liquid logistics company has been purchased by a local investment group led by former McColl’s CEO Simon Thornton.
The new owners taking the reins of the business from private equity firm KKR and fund manager Allegro.
Mr Thornton will again manage the company and he’s told heavyvehicles.com.au that it’s exciting times for McColl’s.
“McColl’s has a great team and we see strong prospects for growth over the medium and long term.”
“We see McColl’s as a long-term business to own and nurture and we are excited about the future, particularly around opportunities in the dairy and chemical sectors.
“I’m excited about ‘coming home’ to lead McColl’s as a well-run, well capitalised business.”
And to help the business better service existing and new customers the business has purchased 49 new prime movers, 10 road trains and 13 tankers.
And they say there will be more investment in McColl’s over the next three years.
