Dana wins Hino XL Series driveline contract

New North American Hino models to feature Dana drivelines

Dana Incorporated has announced it will be the exclusive driveline supplier for the new Hino XL Series truck range.

The bonneted trucks, set to be available in rigid (XL7) and prime-mover (XL8) configurations, will feature Dana Spicer steer axles and SPL driveshafts.

The new Hino trucks will also feature Spicer single and tandem drive axles.Yoshinori Noguchi, president and CEO of Hino Trucks North America, says working with Dana to bring the XL Series to life was an important alliance.  

“Dana’s products are renowned for their impeccable design, consistency, and effectiveness for customers.

“Those traits are consistent with our goals and made them an ideal fit.” 

While Mark Wallace, president of Dana Commercial Driveline Technologies, says the new Hino trucks will be hard to beat.

“Hino has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence for its customers and we are honored to be able to strengthen our relationship with them by being chosen as the driveline supplier for the launch of the XL series.”

Hino will begin production of the trucks in early 2019 at its facility in West Virginia.

At this stage there are no plans to bring the XL Series to Australia, though we will keep you updated show there be any change to that.
