Peterbilt looks to have gone all-out with the design of the sleeper cab on their new Model 579 UltraLoft.
Unveiled this week in North America, unfortunately we don’t get Peterbilt trucks in Australia and so we won’t be seeing this particular offering on our local roads.
Featuring an integrated high-loft sleeper cab, Peterbilt Chief Engineer Scott Newhouse tells us the new design gives driver teams and solo truck drivers extra space and amenities.
“The 80-inch integrated UltraLoft sleeper provides plenty of space for drivers who spend multiple weeks on the road or for team drivers,”
“It’s ideal for driver trainer operations as the industry struggles with a shortage of experienced truck drivers.”
For the record, the twin bunks are 2159mm long on the lower and 2082mm on the upper.
While single-bunk configurations provide nearly two square metres of storage space.
A large wardrobe, space for a microwave, TV (up to 32”), power ports, and a slide-out table for working or eating also features in the new model.
