Iveco has just received one of the biggest truck supply deals in its history with Jost Group ordering 500 new Iveco Stralis prime movers.
The European transport and Logistics operation has specified that their new Stalis trucks will be of the ‘NP’ (Natural Power) variety and that means they will be able to be fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Jost Group say the trucks offer excellent power, low noise levels, and all the benefits of running LNG rather than diesel.
The Iveco Stralis NP’s CO2 emissions are up to 10% lower than its diesel equivalent.
Currently, of the 1400 trucks in the Jost Group fleet, 132 trucks are Iveco Stralis vehicles, including two running on compressed natural gas (CNG).
The first 150 new Iveco trucks will take their place in the Jost fleet next year, while the entire fleet will be operational before 2020.
The deal will enable Jost to meet its goal of having 35% of its fleet running on LNG by 2020.
Aside from the new Iveco Stralis trucks, Jost is also investing in its own LNG refuelling infrastructure.
