August 2017 another bumper month for truck sales

Another 16% jump in new truck sales in Australia

Big sales gains for brands including Iveco, MAN, Kenworth, Volvo and Scania have helped the Australian truck sales industry to a very healthy sales total last month.

The VFACTS data released today by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) shows 3,269 new heavy commercial vehicles were delivered in the month – a total up 16% on the same month last year.

While across the first eight months of 2017 sales have increased a full 9%.

Once again, Isuzu was the best-selling truck brand, and the Isuzu N-Series was the most-popular truck.

There was a 16.4% increase in the light-duty segment with 1,570 total sales, medium-duty sales fell back 2.2% with 627 deliveries.

The big mover was the heavy-duty segment with a 29.5% jump in demand and 1,072 total sales.
