Things on the up for Hino
Hino is on track for one of its best-ever years in the Australian market with sales consistently heading north.
Across the first six months of 2017 Hino delivered 2,213 vehicles to Australian customers, a healthy 5.9% above the total achieved by the brand in the first half of 2016.
Hino has put out a statement thanking its new and returning Australian customers for the ongoing and expanding support.
Brand and Franchise Development Manager, Bill Gillespie, tells us everything is coming together nicely.
“In June, Hino had record retail orders, recording the highest one-month order number since June 2015,”
“The growth was primarily led by the all-new 500 Series Wide Cab, which has contributed to our gains in both the medium-duty (11.2%) and heavy-duty (62%) segments.
And Mr Gillespie says the new medium-duty offering is making some big inroads on rivals.
“We currently lead the medium duty market in South Australia and Tasmania, and are in second position in Victoria and the Northern Territory by relatively narrow margins.”
While Mr Gillespie says an investment in improved customer care is also paying off.
“We say we are driven to do more for our customers – an example of this is our in-house customer care centre, which is the only one of its type in the Hino world.
“We have seen an increase in positive customer outcomes and a reduction in the time taken to resolve enquiries.”
And on the dealer network? Mr Gillespie says more dealers are about to also come online.
“A strong focus in the second half of 2017 will be the continued investment in our dealer network in locations around the country including Coffs Harbour, Sydney and Melbourne, with additional sites to be confirmed in the coming months.”
