Swiss Armed Forces turn again to Iveco

Iveco picks up 400 truck order in Switzerland…

We may know Iveco as being a truck, bus and van manufacturer, however the brand, especially in Europe, has an even wider selection of models and configurations.

Fire and emergency vehicles are a big part of Iveco and so too is a range of defence vehicles that have proven popular among many European nations for many years.

Now Iveco is preparing to build 400 specially equipped vehicles for the Swiss Armed Forces.

The significant order comes after two years of market evaluation and practical trials in Switzerland and includes a range of variants of the Stralis and Trakker, including 8×6 and 8×8 vehicles.

All 400 trucks will be fitted with Euro 6 compliant engines.

The Swiss Armed Forces are no strangers to the Iveco product – they’ve used them for more than 20 years!

Vincenzo Giannelli is the President & CEO of Iveco Defence Vehicles, he says it’s an honour to continue the longstanding relationship with the Swiss Armed Forces.

“Projecting and producing tailor-made vehicles adapted to the specific needs of our customers is always an interesting challenge for us,”

“This contract provides us with an excellent opportunity to improve innovation and research for a new generation of trucks.”
