Fuel filter recall for Hino 300 Series trucks

Fuel leak risk for Hino 300 Series trucks identified…

A recall of some Hino 300 Series trucks has been initiated after a possible fault with the fuel filter was found.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and affects a total of less than 881 Hino 300 Series trucks sold in Australia.

Is your Hino involved in the recall? Check here (have your VIN handy).

The recall notice advises that the fuel filter element installed on the engine may crack if the engine is started and stopped frequently.

Hino tell us they have found that the durability of the fuel filter element is not enough to endure changes in the fuel pressure.

What are the hazards?

The crack in fuel filter element may spread if the vehicle continues to be used. This can cause the element to break, resulting in fuel leakage.

Affected Australian Hino 300 Series owners will be contacted by direct mail.

Owners should return their vehicle to an authorised Hino dealer for inspection and repair.
