Significant fire engine orders for Magirus

The specialist emergency services truck brand, Magirus, has won major supply contracts in Italy and Germany.

The brand, which is a sister of the successful Iveco brand, has just been announced as the winner of two separate supply contracts for fire engines in the two European countries.

In total, Magirus will build and equip a total of 200 new fire engines under the deals.

The fire brigades of the Italian Ministry of the Interior will receive 100 new Magirus “FPT” fires engines, these trucks that are based on the Iveco EuroCargo 4×2 chassis.

While the Firefighters Institute of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, one of the largest fire training centres in Germany, placed an order for 109 LF-KatS Magirus fire trucks.

CNH Industrial, the parent company of Iveco and Magirus, says the German fire authority made its choice based on several factors, however it was the Magirus Team Cab that was the largest decisive factor.
