The Nikola One was officially unveiled at a major event in the U.S. on Friday where more details on how the truck’s electric drive system will be powered by a combination of hydrogen fuel cells, lithium-ion batteries and regenerative braking were revealed.
Milton said the truck, most likely initially a day-cab version of the vehicle, will be in production by 2020, with an expected annual build rate of up to 50,000 units.

Nikola Motor Co. is also planning 6×6 and 6×4 versions of the fuel cell electric drive chassis and the company announced plans to build hundreds of hydrogen fuelling stations (in North America).
Nikola saying these stations will include parking and shopping areas.
Between now and 2020, Milton said a production factory will be built and the Nikola One will be put through rigorous tests and further development will be carried out in the trucks braking systems.
