Fuso has confirmed Australia will receive the all-new all-electric Fuso Canternext year.
Revealed officially only last week at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Germany, the Fuso eCanter has proven itself in exhaustive testing, according to Fuso Truck and Bus director, Justin Whitford.
However Fuso are yet to commit to a timeline of when the all-electric offering could be commercially available here.
“We are excited to be able to conduct a local trial with the ground breaking all-electric Fuso eCanter in Australia.”
Featuring a 185kW/380Nm synchronous electric motor, power is transferred to the rear axle by a single-speed transmission.
While Fuso tell us the light-duty truck boasts a range of more than 100km on a single charge.
And boasting a chassis load capacity of the 7.5 tonnes and 4.63 t including the body and load, Fuso reckons Australian operators could save around $2,000 in running costs per 10,000km travelled.
