eNow launches eCharge
This is not yet confirmed for Australia, though we will keep you updated, however Freightliner Trucks drivers and fleet owners can now benefit from a new integrated roof-mounted solar system.
Launched by eNow, a leader in renewable energy solutions for the transportation industry, the eNow eCharge solar system is being offered as a pre-delivery installation offering on new Freightliner Cascadia trucks.
Already in use by several large fleets, the eNow say these existing users have reduced their daily fuel consumption by about 11.5 litres per day from reduced engine idling.
The use of the suns power, rather than diesel, also means less operating/idling hours and resulting maintenance on engines.
eNow President and CEO, Jeff Flath, says the eNow system will supply ongoing power to the batteries, ensuring the driver’s power needs, including heating and air-conditioning, are always met.
“The eNow system has continually proven its value in reducing costs, while also demonstrating its durability over diverse road conditions and in a variety of climates,”
“Drivers and fleet owners who order the eNow system preinstalled will begin realizing the benefits from solar the minute they take delivery.”
The eNow system can be ordered through Freightliner dealerships in the U.S.
