Iveco wins awards at Sustainable Truck of the Year series…
The awards recognize companies that are kicking goals in environmentally friendly transport initiatives and this year the judges were impressed by the two ‘alternative energy’ Iveco vehicles.
These were the CNG-powered Iveco Eurocargo and the electric-drive Iveco Daily.
The two Iveco offerings named the most environmentally-friendly commercial vehicles in their categories.
The Eurocargo CNG is powered by a 210hp Tector 6 engine that complies with Euro 6 emissions standards and according to the jury it is a pioneer in environmental compatibility.
Fine dust emissions are negligibly low, CO2 emissions are significantly lower and the engine noise is below 60 decibels.
Thanks to this advanced technology, which is already available and cost-efficient, the Eurocargo is able to travel unrestrictedly into cities.
While the judges were impressed by the Daily Electric’s high-performance electrical equipment and battery systems.
The low overall weight, reduced energy consumption, 20% higher battery life of the fully recyclable battery and the additional payload of more than 100 kilograms are among the highlights of this vehicle.
With the patented flexible charging mode, the battery can be charged in both public and private environments by connecting it to a fast-charging station for only two hours.
Pierre Lahutte, Brand President of Iveco, welcomed the recognition.
“Winning these awards makes us very proud,”
“We are especially proud as we have achieved success in the area of sustainability and energy efficiency.
“This recognition confers on our brand motto, Iveco – Your partner for sustainable transport.”
